- 1 Meyer Lemon, juiced (standard lemons can be used)
- 1 1/2 Cup Water
- 1 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
- Pinch of Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Drinking a large cup of lemon juice in the morning is a great way to start the day. It’s great way to flush and cleanse your system of what was eaten the day before. I use Meyer lemons when available. Native to China, the meyer lemons are thought to be a cross between a lemon and mandarin. They were introduced into the USA in 1908 and are a popular breed of lemons grown everywhere in California. This drink is a good flush for the kidneys, the liver and the colon and also is good to drink at night a few hours after dinner.
Lemon aids the body in breaking down and eliminating mucus deposits that can clog up your digestive system. It contains enzymes and vitamin-C which, natural cleansers that help flush your system of toxins.
The cayenne pepper stimulates the production of digestive juices and also aids in the elimination of mucus toxins that build up in our system. This drink can be made without the cayenne pepper as a healthy lemon juice.
- Using a hand Juicer, extract juice from lemon
- Heat water if you desire warm lemon drink
- Add all ingredients together
