- 1 Package Veggie/soy Hotdogs
- 1 Can Vegetarian Baked Beans
- Your Favorite Toppings
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Sweet Pickle Relish
- Sour Knout
You might ask me why I have a recipe for something as simple as Baked Beans and Hotdogs. You would be surprised many times I’ve had people I work with come up to me and ask, “you’re a vegetarian right? Well, I have a 10 year old son or daughter that won’t eat meat because they don’t want animals to be killed. What do I feed them to ensure that get enough protein?” This dish is loaded with protein and your kids will love it.
Every kid, small and big likes Baked Beans and Hotdogs. I’ve served hotdogs to children visiting my house and they like my hotdogs better than the ones their Mom buys. There are a number of brands in the marketplace, even Veggie Jumbo Franks. Make sure when you purchase Baked Beans that they are vegetarian as many have pork or pork fat in them. As always, read the ingredient list on packaged foods.
Directions:
- Open can of Baked Beans and place in a medium sized pan
- Either cut up the veggie hotdogs and add to baked beans or cook separately and place on top of baked beans as shown in picture.
- Warm over medium heat for about 5 – 20 minutes until hot.
- Serve in a bowl.
